2019 Lenten Theme: “The Saving Power of the Cross”

LENT Begins on Ash Wednesday, March 6. Worship service times and dates are listed below.

Lent is a spiritual journey of prayer, intentional spiritual discipline, and worship focused on suffering and death of our Lord Jesus Christ as He approached the cross. The 40-day journey begins on Ash Wednesday when we receive the sign of the cross in ash upon our foreheads and hear those somber words, “You are dust and to dust you shall return.”

We continue to worship throughout Lent, not only on Sundays, but also on Wednesdays at our Lenten Midweek worship services that follow Ash Wednesday. Our Ascension Lenten services invite you into a unique spiritual experience as we use a meditative worship style that will help center your spirit and focus you on Jesus. In these services you will experience God’s Word and a quiet worship atmosphere. You will listen to a gentle flowing partially-improvised music which is used also to underscore and enhance the prayers and brief devotional message. Those who would like to come forward to pray at one of the prayer stations. All this and yet these services are only 35 minutes long. Some say they look forward to these services all year long. Maybe these are the services your soul has been longing for?
