Ascension is again partnering with Head Start to adopt 11 families in our community who need a little help.  Thank you to everyone who adopted families.  Items are due back to church by December 12th.

Ascension’s Giving Tree provides members the opportunity to come together and meet the needs of others in our community served by Freedom House, St. John’s Shelter and Home Sweet Home. Items of need are received from these organizations and shared with you to purchase and return to our Giving Tree.

  • If you are worshiping in-person on Sunday mornings or come to another activity at church:¬†
Take an ornament (or multiple!) from the Giving Tree. Each ornament identifies an item of need. Purchase the item and bring it back to church. (If you took an ornament, as ask that you bring it back for us to possibly use it again next year.)
  • If you are worshiping online:
CLICK HERE for the list of needs.  Select an item(s) to purchase and drop off at church. What if someone else selected that same item? No problem! There’s no limit to these items of great need.

All items are to be dropped off at the church by Monday, December 19th.
No need to wrap, simply place your items near the Giving Tree on Sunday morning, during the week when the office is open or call the church office to arrange a possible drop-off time. ¬†As we ‚ÄúWait for the Lord‚ÄĚ, let us stop to see, remember, and help those in need throughout our community.

The pantry team will be collecting non-perishable food for the pantry at Resurrection Lutheran Church before services on December 5th.  Needed items include:  soups, baked beans, jelly, meals in a can.  Side dishes and personal hygiene items are also greatly appreciated.  Thanks for checking expiration dates.

Knitters will not be meeting in January, so please plan to come on Wednesday, December 1 from 4:00-5:00 p.m. and stock up on yarn!

We are planning another demonstration for anyone interested in learning more about how to make "plarn" (plastic yarn) mats for the homeless on Thursday, December 9th at 10:00 a.m. until noon.  We are not collecting bags at this time, but if you are planning to come and learn, you can bring your own bags.

Looking for an outreach ministry to get involved in?  Ascension has many opportunities for you to impact our community in positive ways.
